WHAT a great assortment of mail this week, and there's still two days to go!

First came another letter from my sister Eileen, surprising in that she had just written me like the day before. But she had forgotten to include the phone card she'd meant to send with 140 minutes gab time on it .. does the girl know how to keep her brother happy or what? THANK YOU Eileen, I'll be calling you within the next day or two!

Then came a postcard from the one, the original, Agent Kensington, my old pal Rachel, who had been on a snowboarding vacation in the French Alps. Scroll down on her blog to see not only fab vay-kay fotos of that, but cool photos of her native New Zealand (and the occasional foto of her cute brother Brad).

And THEN: well I'm just gonna have to get THIS one scanned or something. Lance, my bestest bud' from Monterey days has been on vacation with his honey and his folks on Hawai'i, where coincidentally my bestest bud' Chuck from Peace Corps recruitment days had also arrived, for Work! (Do you know anyone who goes to Hawai'i on business? I do.) Anyway, the caption on the postcard lovely Lance sent my way says: WARRIOR DANCE .. the interplay of light and form dramatizes this performance of an ancient hula.

Now if the writing of that caption had been left to me, it would've said: WARRIOR DANCE .. Wearing nothing but rope thongs and shell jewelry, hunky Polynesian men hold poles above their heads at the climax of a must-see hula dance. Aloha! (... hamina-hamina-hamina ...)
