Back to the full-time work-world
Well it occurred to me on Friday as i walked home from the last of five full days in a row of work: Oh my God. i've just finished my first full week of work since ... Janurary of 2001. Yikes!

Birthday shout-outs
Hoi Marcos in Amsterdam! Dude not only did i never get your email address, but at this point i'd be hard-pressed to tell you your last name. i think i'd get it right if it were presented in multiple-choice format, with like two or three options. In any event, you are not forgotten, and Dougie T. is sendin' a transatlantic Fijne Verjaardig your way .. hope your day's a happy one as you turn 29. again
Come in Agent Vortex, where the hell art thou? Agent Kensington advises you might once again be resident in the land down under -- where beer does flow and men chunder -- but damned if i can explain why i went ahead and sent your Happy Big Three-Oh postcard to your last known address in Barthelona. i guess i just figured on some subliminal level, "well if he didn't tell ME then he must still be right where i left him." Chris Fox, here's hoping that it reaches you wherever you are.
Quote of the week
Ten thousand workers die on the job every year in the United States -- the deadliest workplace in the industrialized world. Other industrial nations simply do not put up with such corporate laxity, imposing safeguards that would prevent a majority of death sentences our executives hand down to 10,000 of our people year after year. -- Bill Moyers, Moyers on America (p. 75)
Heartwood update
After a delay of almost three weeks, Heartwood's acceptance package finally arrived in the mail this past Saturday. The three things i am focusing on: 1) finding a ride (or someone's car to drive) west, to leave Rochester about Apr. 25; 2) finding a new home for Sandy with a dog-loving couple or family in Garberville; and 3) rounding up the financing to pay for the six-month work/study program, $1350. Fortunately, as mentioned above, work at Napier and Napier has picked up, and hopefully i'll be full-time there for my last three weeks in town.
And with CraigsList finally starting up one of their famous webpages in my home-town, i have of course also placed one of my ads there .. check it out here.
That's all for this week. Hope spring has sprung wherever you might be.
peace!
ps - Special Request going out to DJ Puregroove! Simon {and Ian!}, could you guys cut me some fresh CD's that would be good for giving/getting a massage? Shokran jazilan, yaa sadiqi!
